Contribution of government sponsored welfare schemes for scheduled castes and scheduled tribes in entrepreneurial development with special reference to Almora district”: A pilot study

Abstract
Entrepreneurs plays important role in the economic and industrial development of any country. They are building blocks for any country, nation, or region. India is a developing country and has diversity in its unity. Scheduled castes (SCs) and scheduled tribes (STs) are socially and economically most disadvantages group in India. They share significant proportion in terms of population but their ownership in businesses is underrepresented. Most of the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes entrepreneurs are running micro enterprises having no employee in their enterprises. To promote entrepreneurship among scheduled castes and scheduled tribes various measures have been taken by government which aims to uplift socio-economic status of these communities and enhance entrepreneurial qualities among them. To develop the qualities of entrepreneurs skill development training and education has imparted by government at various level. SCs and STs, entrepreneurship brings small capital resources and skill in the country. It ensures fuller utilization of capital and mobilization of human potential. Entrepreneurship is suitable to all as it can be manage with other works. Self-employed person has no time bound work which makes it easy for them to manage with other works. Most of the entrepreneurs from SCs and STs communities managing their enterprise along with other works such as daily wage earners. It is realized that the strength of the country is in these small or micro businesses.
